I had an ultra-long about page on my previous layout but I figured I'd slim it down a bit. So.

Pretty much, I call myself the most fantabulous, I ♥ blogging, graphic design = life, pancakes and/or waffles are delicious, I am a ginormous Mega Man Battle Network
fan, my Nintendo DS/DSi goes wherever I go, I come from a family of camera whores, I have a clothing line in progress, I'm working on some albums with 2 lovely artists and
an indie acoustic/rock guy [all good friends of mine], and I try to live life as if I was a monk who was in solitary meditation for 50 years, just eager to learn new things to
broaden my mind. Oh, and I'm a fan of retro shows like Daria and Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. The new guys suck bollocks. Hey, Wikipedia has an article on bollocks!
My portfolio
Graphic design used to just be a hobby, something to pass the time during irrelevant classes and express myself. In recent months however, I warmed up to the idea of
being a freelance designer so here's my portfolio in progress spread across a couple sites. My deviantART account is the one that's always updated first.

This is the name of my music production outfit, the umbrella for all things delicious for your ears. You have some options here, and who doesn't like options?
Boring people, that's who! *Ahem* Anyhoo, you can either stream some beats or download 'em. After that, you can head over to my music page on MySpace to
network and such. I do DnB / techno / HipHop, with socially conscious rhymes. I'm trying to make party songs now because studies show people like to shake their
bum bums / ruckuses / bootays / whatever these youngsters are calling 'em these days. By the way, I'm 20.

WTF?
What?! Who are you looking at? Hey, I have a hilarious quote by way of Daria [episode #101], and then one by Guy Fawkes Day [episode #303]:

I don't have low self-esteem. It's a mistake. I have low esteem for everyone else.
Well, I'd probably say... bollocks! But that's just a natural reflex.
Roadmap of awesomeness
Coming eventually, just as soon as I find that damn map. :/
Yoyoyo, wassup?
I was going to have a contact form but I thought, naaaaah. You don't need to talk to me that much. I have a comment system after the posts, I have links to a
bunch of social networking sites, etc. I'm virtually everywhere! Contact me any one of those 15 ways mkaythnxbaibai ... Or, if you're just plain lazy, fire an email over to

Icy Chill Text Effect

DesignTutorials

I found an old tutorial I made before the big server transition for PW Software so I’m reposting it. Thank goodness for Google’s caching. Oh, and I actually went through about 50 GBs on one of my external hard drives today, cleaning and such [where I found the PSD for this tut among other awesome goodies].

Okay, so I came across this text effect by accident which was cool. I thought I should share such a simple technique that could add some punch to bland text. This is so basic, it can be done in any version of Photoshop.

First thing you have to do is open up a new Photoshop document. Let’s go for the default Photoshop size of 7 x 5 inches. Create a new layer [Ctrl + Shift + N] and add some text. It doesn’t matter which font but I am going to use Pricedown. It’s a nice thick font that will show off the effect quite well, and it’s used in the Grand Theft Auto title.

Right-click on the text layer and go down to “Gradient Overlay” and apply these settings. The first color code is #BCFBFF while the second is #EBFDFF.

You should get something like this. I added the light diagonals so you could see the letters clearer.

Next, head over to “Bevel and Emboss” and apply these settings. Set the highlight mode to pure white [#FFFFFF] if it is not already there, and set the shadow mode to #43C6F6.

Lastly, we’re going to add a simple drop shadow so get to it! Nothing too fancy here, we just want to make the text stand out a little bit. You know the routine. Make the drop shadow color #525252.

And we’re done! Feel free to send me any links of what you’ve done with this mini-tut. I’m curious to see what other people can come up with. View the finished product below.
